Formwork Products : Condek / Bondek

Since it is only a second year subject, i think it will still appropriate for me to give a brief description of the product.

BONDEK steel formwork is used to form a suspended composite concrete slab. In its assembled state Bondek is used as formworko support wet concerete and construction materials. When the concrete hardens Bondek is cating as the bottom reinforcement of the concerete slab. It is a perfect choise of concrete ceiling floor construction such as the office floor in the previous drawing.

BONDEK steel formwork incorporates a number of unique features making it fast and easy to use as well as giving an overall material and labour saving in the construction of suspanded slabs. These includes :
- Used as formwork ( eliminates ply wood )
- Used as bottom reinforcement ( no bottom steel )
- Fast and easy to install
- Superior strength
- Safe working platform
- Durable galvanized coating
- Full range of accesories ( nuts and connectors )

Portal Frame + Office

Here in this drawing, you can see the detail connection between the portal frame building ( ware house , for instance ) with an office building adjoined to it.

Couple of things need to be noted:
- The fascia is required in between the lines.
- How the Concrete Panel becomes the office's wall.
- The connection between the roofing, ceiling and floor slab with the concrete panel.

Portal Frame Section

Basically this is the same building with the first portal frame picture. However, this drawing is done from different angle of the building to give more understanding of the structure.

Notice the C - Section Girts are welded to the Staunchion facing down. This is done so that it doesnt accumulate water and dust.

The best way to understand this drawing is to compare it side by side with the first portal frame drawing. You can see the same structure elements from different sides.
